Amazon FBA Course- Launch Logic or How to Increase Amazon Sales

Hi, I just want to let you know, if you see any awkward jumps in the face cam, it’s not a glitch, I just cut out any dead space or if I went off on a tangent and with that been said, lets jump right into launch logic.

Okay, this is what I call launch logic or the traffic secret, knowing me you probably found this video searching Amazon FBA Course, Amazon FBA, how to start an Amazon FBA business, or something along those lines. I know on this title slide traffic secret might not make much sense to you now, but just see exactly what I am talking about as I go through these slides, unlike many videos, where they title it something like let me show you how I make $40,000 in a month, and then they give you some introductory material you could have found on a blog post, that don’t really tell you anything, this video is going to go into exactly how you can start making sales without any money on ads spent. You get all your money directly from Amazon, and that is what launch logic is all about. Getting those sales without having to spend any money on ads. So let’s get right into it.

If you made it to this video, it’s probably because you are a little burned out, you are a little tired, you’ve had your product on Amazon for maybe some months, a few weeks and you are not getting any sales or you haven’t even started yet, and you are just trying to find out what is the secret. So many people have tried, and failed, you want to know what it really takes to make it on Amazon. You are listening to a lot of podcast, a lot of gurus, you know they kind of dance around the question, you know they give you a little tactic or strategy here and there they are not really explaining how they get those $40,000 a month, month after month. And if you are as seller you probably tried everything, Google ads, Facebook ads, giveaways, software to help you find less competitive products, products that will start making sales, immediately as soon as you put it on the platform, and you maybe even tried the review service or a launch service but you find, with this you are probably using them incorrectly.

And a lot of people that tried those things still get no traction, you still are having a hard time selling. You may have sold one or two items, but you just can’t get the ball rolling. Well, I am here to tell you the secret. The answer to your Amazon problem is Amazon.com, its Amazon itself. Now let me show you how. I am not talking about Amazon pay-per-click ads, or the PPC platform, where you know you sponsor your product for shots above other products in the search engine, but you are close. Okay more specifically the answers to your problem is Amazon’s SERPS, or their search result pages. The fact is there are millions of products on Amazon. You can’t make sales if the customers can’t find you. First let’s take a trip to Merchantwords.com. This site gives you an estimate of the monthly searches done on Amazon’s platform. Let’s start with a search on the term baking mat. As you can see baking mat, is probably the number one most searched term when someone is looking for a baking mat, it’s searched 264,000 times a month, imagine. Every time someone typed in this your product showed up. And this is the most targeted customer you can get so they already know they want, is actively searching for your product, it’s the best ads in the world. You have 264,000 opportunities to sell your product, you didn’t have to give away coupons or pay for an ad, don’t get me wrong Amazon PPC is a great tool but not the magic bullet that will save your product.

Allow me to introduce to you a second concept using the tool JungleScout. This tool estimates the sales and revenue of products in Amazon search. Okay let’s search the same term baking mat. This is the search page that returns, of course this page can be different according to what Amazon is testing at the time, but right now it’s giving us a great layout. Alright the next thing we are going to do is check out jungle scout, let’s give it some time to think and I am also going to zoom in the page here, as you can see jungle scout is a great tool giving us the average sales rank, the average price, and the average number of reviews of the product.

But what I want to draw your attention to is the estimated revenue column in this section, as you can see the top two products on this page, are estimated to be making about $35,000 in revenue, every month. 2473 sales, for the top product and an estimated 2497 sales for the second and as you go down the page, you can see that prices rise and fall, but mostly tenth until you get to nineteen and twenty two, which may be ranking for other key words and certainly a higher position that has to do with the term baking mat. But, as you can see by the time you get to the bottom of the page, you have revenue of 1000, 4000, 2000, and 1000, that’s too different from 34000 and 52000 at the top.
Now we are going to go to page two of the search results. We are going to run the same jungle scout tool, and we are going to give it a second to think. Now already you can see it change in the average number of views for these products which is 206 and look at the top of the second page, we have someone making 620, and someone making 5000, OXO Good is making 26000 but again it may be ranking for another positive key word in a higher position and these two at the bottom are as well. But as you can see it’s vastly different by the time you get to the bottom of this page, the bottom they haven’t even made a 1000 in estimated revenue, except for Farberware who may be ranking again with another key word in a higher place elsewhere. But as you can see it’s vastly different. The numbers are getting lower, no one here matches the revenue of 34,000 which is on the first page, and someone even making 22000 in estimated revenue, so you can imagine, the further you go into this key word, the less money you will see, each mat make.

Now again there are other key words but baking mat is the one most searched. And the one with the most opportunities for sales. Now do you see the main reason why you just can’t seem to make sales, with the Amazon product? If you aren’t on page one, or two for the key word, customers don’t even see your products. Now some might be saying wait Amazon PPC let’s me skip the line if I bid correctly, I show up on page one and two and I still can’t make sales. Well the issue there is that your listing has to be optimized to get sales. What do I mean? Lets take a look back at the baking mat search, okay this is the first page of the baking mat search, up here are the Amazon PPC Sponsored ads, and here is the beginning of the organic search.

Now let’s just pretend that these are the only four on the page. Which one would you buy? As a buyer, you will take into account the pictures, what you are looking for, a baking mat, and as I can see I am getting offered for the most part two baking mats. For the average price of around $14 and then you have this Silpat mat, for $25, and they are only offering one. Well as I can see, the one that stands out the most, for the most part is this one right here because it takes up the most of the image, but then I am going to go down to the reviews and the ratings. And as I can see the one I had my eye on, has a 161 reviews, most of them 5 star, but when I look over here, to the Amazon basics it has the No1 bestseller tag, so I may say to myself well, yes this one has five stars but this one here has way more reviews and its selling the best, so 9 times out of 10, I may pick this one, over this one. And of course this Silpat mat has way more reviews almost 2000 but I don’t want to get offered one for almost double the price of the Amazon basics one which is two, for only $14.

Now you being a new seller this is probably where yours is the Noybo Silicon Baking Mat. Its two, the color is different and the picture is pretty good but they only have 20 reviews. I am more likely definitely to pick this one over this one because more people have co signed this one and it just happens to be the No1 bestseller so you see it doesn’t matter if you show up on the first page in this situation because compared to the competition, you are not even close. You lose every time. Success on Amazon kind of becomes a circle to reach page one or two of Amazon, to have to make sales and convert. And you can’t make sales and convert unless you are on page one or two of Amazon. So you need a solution that:

A) Boost your sales.
B) Get you reviews and,
C) Ranks you for the key word that leads to your product.

And you can accomplish these things with the launch service. These are what these services are meant for. It’s not a use it once and then you are done type of deal. It’s kind of a process you use this services to give you those total boost of sales you need to get reviews and become optimized and then eventually you will reach those page one’s with your optimized listings you will be able to make sales day after day like your competitors do and reach those $40,000 a month after a while depending on the product of course. And for those of you that are unfamiliar, a launch service gives your product away at a discount to a group of buyers who through their own will and a bit or reciprocity will leave reviews and boost sales and ranking through purchasing your product.

And now that I have thought you the secrets, I am going to give you some quick tips. Once you launch the product, you have to follow up for reviews. The boost in sales and ranking won’t help if your product never becomes optimized. Essentially you will just be wasting money. So you have to follow up for reviews and the next is to not go into some mobile accessories or supplements. I know many of you are working on very limited budgets, and mobile accessories and supplements are just too high competitive categories. And for most products you need at least a 1000 reviews to start making your product optimized for sales organically. So unless you have a lot of resources to bank on I don’t suggest starting on mobile accessories or supplements. And next I want to tell you about CrushAzon.

Amazon FBA Course- Amazon Conversion

Hi, I am Jon I am here to talk to you about Amazon conversion. I will give you some facts and myths. Okay the first thing about Amazon conversion is that people have to find you first. You can have the best conversion on the site but if only ten people are able to find your product listing, it won’t help you. If you haven’t already, you need to watch Amazon Launch Logic. First on my YouTube page or within the course so you can better understand how people can find your product listing.

But for now, let’s talk about Amazon conversion once they’ve found your listing. Okay the elements of conversion on Amazon page are:

• Photos
• Product Title
• Review Count
• Bullets
• Description
• And Special Tags. For instance the No1 Best Seller Tags or The Amazon’s Choice Tag.

Now for Amazon conversion when it comes to photos, you do not want to use a Factory Photos from Alibaba or any other source aside UC. You want to get professionally made photos, and my number one spotlight to go to is ProductPhotography.com, additionally you can have a cheaper way of making your product stand out on the site by using 3D rendering, which is available on Fiverr.com, and of course this isn’t really a conversion factor but this is just a note, if you are selling multiple products, make sure you have a medium to set your selling within your photograph. If you are selling two of something, a pack of two, you want to have two of that product in the main photo. If you are selling three you want to have three, if you are selling one you only want to show one of that product.

This way, customers don’t get confused and leave a bad review. Okay so I just want to show you what main factor photos to product supply, so I am going to a page on that in Alibaba.com, as you can see the mat here looks pretty basic, the photos aren’t the best quality you know sometimes the baking mat can look a little bit like dirty or a little bit [dingier 00:02:01] alright they pulled this one directly from Amazon and they just add it there, copies, a lot going on for this one, but again you don’t want to have the main factual logo on the sheet, and here it is again for this one, these are better pictures, Alibaba’s main functions have improved knowing that Amazon is mostly where their products are going to be dealing, but again oh this is a great picture there product photography, but again if someone else were to get this baking mat, they have access to that picture, so you want to have professional photos, one that I had was this one done, now this can’t be recreated, my photographer had a chef actually made this and then put it on my mat and then I had in it as my main photo and you can see the bakers food logo right there.

So that is just an example of why you do need to have your photos made by a professional photographer to give you that product uniqueness and this particular photo did increase my clicks when I used it, I don’t use it anymore for this particular product, because it’s just my demo account, but when I did use it, just to get my sales up a little bit for this product, my clicks did go up, people were enticed.

Right now I want to show you the 3D rendering on Fiverr, so what you will do, you just go to fiverr.com, you want to have to create an account but I am not going to log in here, so you going to 3d rendering and this can be an alternative to using a professional photographer, you can actually take a picture on your I phone, send it to render on Fiverr, and they can make your product very spectacular, so here and its very cute too, $25 is nothing really in terms of the Amazon business experience so it’s trying to get me to sign in, but basically you see that the product looks amazing. Almost HD, I’ve heard people refer to it as that. Here is another great example and it includes the packages on this one and you can do this style on Amazon too, this one here is another great product, remember when you are on Amazon, you want to make sure you are actually offering these three drinks as a three pack, rather than just having them pick one. And here is another great one, that looks like an interesting product, I might look into that actually later, so that’s all for rendering.

Alright product title is important because you want it detailed exactly what they will be receiving. Make sure you are honest and giving them what they want. This kind of go to the shoot in the photo thing I was telling you about, okay you want to, if you are selling two, you want to state that you are selling two within your product title alright and within your product title, you want to start with what your brand is and then with what your product is, right after the other, you don’t want to confuse it by putting 30 days money back guarantees first, they need to know exactly what they are getting first and foremost.

Now I am going to take you to my product listing, and show you the title, alright, definitely like I said you want to start off with what your brand name is and my brand name was Baker’s Goods and then you want to give exactly what key word you are targeting or your main product so I was targeting non stick professional silicon baking mat, if I were to go back, I would actually change this to simply silicon baking mat maybe or I will probably put non stick silicon baking mat rather professional, just so I can really get those key words in there all that key word phrase in there.

Okay bullets, these aren’t the best bullet points I have made, but I will show you even better bullet points in a second.
Review count in most cases review counts will increase conversion and sales for your products, the more reviews you have, the more sales you will receive. And you want to keep between a 4/5 star rating on those reviews. Okay and there are some podcasters, some experts that start giving you this review count myth. Some quote that once you receive 75 – 100 reviews it doesn’t matter how much reviews you have, you got to make sales according to where you are at in the searches on pages and I can tell you for certain that, that is a myth. Now I believe where they are sourcing that from is that product confidence may stay the same but your sales may not necessarily increase.

So what I mean by product confidence is they feel confident that your product will do the job, once you reach 75 reviews, so if you have a 1000 reviewed product and a 75 reviewed product, if they buy either, they will feel confident enough that the product will work, not necessarily that they will pick the 75 reviewed product over the 1000 reviewed product.

Bullets you have to do some research about your product before you are able to craft great bullet points, you have to scan the bullets of your competitors and scan the reviews for what people want from the product, what they look for, you want to quell the fear some people may have about buying the product within the bullet point, if they are scared this product will break on its third use, you want to say this product is made with better materials or stronger material, than usual, than our competitors, and we have a 90 days guarantee, and add your money back guarantee if your product should break and you receive your product for free, you know you want to make sure that all their fears, or questions are answered within the bullet point.

And a standard bullet format is benefit/important feature of the product you are listing and when I say feature of the product, or when I say feature of the listing, I mean 30 days money back guarantees, something like that, and then you want to give a coding and then you want to explain how this benefit is reached, or how this feature will help. For instance if the feature is made with steel, you want to say this is made with ABC certified steel, this product will not break etcetera. And here is just a bullet example for baking mat, the benefit is non stick and easy to clean, and then coding, when finished clean up is a breeze just rinse the mat in warm soapy water to clean it, you can wash it in your dishwasher, top rack only after every use and clean it, it will look just like new again. So they explain the benefits exactly how easy it is to clean it.

And last but not least, is description, actually it kind of is the least, it’s the least important portion of your product listing. Meaning best selling products completely ignore this section and customers simply don’t read it. If you have it available though, it should be at least three paragraphs and you want to include a frequently asked question section, with proper questions, and answers from your competitor’s listings and the answer. That way you don’t have to worry about having to respond to a million questions. They are already answered in your description section.

Alright and here is my product description, this is very basic, as you can see I followed my own advice with the frequently asked questions on product description, you can see I divided it into at least three paragraphs or sections. Now I am going to show you a more detailed product description and again you don’t need this, the one I have will suffice, you may just want to focus on your reviews, so here is a product by Instanatural, it’s their vitamin c facial cleanser and they are in the Amazon program that allows this, you don’t necessarily need to involve yourself with the program that allows you to have these types of images in your product description, but as you improve your Amazon business, you may want to create images like these for your product description as time goes on, you don’t want to spend any extra resources on what you don’t need. You really want to focus on getting the products, getting them optimized and get those organic sales before you can start doing all these extravagant things.

So as you can see, they have a great presentation in their product description but again, you have to see the way they’ve optimized, they have a great photo, some good BC pictures, and then here is some better bullet points as I said again they’ve given you the benefits and then they expand a little bit more, this is the perfect way to have your listing, this person knows the tenets of the scores. If I had a similar teacher teach it to me and again here 914 customer reviews so this person has really gone out and pushed to get this product noticed and to get those sales.

And finally special tags portion, this is the number one best seller tags, and the Amazon’s Choice tag. In some cases these tags can increase your conversion by ten percent, so you get the clicks ten percent more with these tags. And now I just want to show you those special tags I was telling you about earlier, so I am going to go to Amazon, type in baking mat, and here you will see Amazon here for baking mat, here is the best seller and here is another best seller tag, even though it’s the same product it may be in a separate category and that is why it is two for this particular key word.

Amazon FBA Course-Amazon Sales Rank

Hi, I am Jon, and today I want to talk about Amazon’s Sales Rank. Amazon’s sales rank or Amazon Bestseller Rank has always been the most overrated feature of Amazon. There are either many services created for a specific purpose, of boosting your bestseller rank. Now Amazon sellers started to order these services, and they got what they ordered, a temporary boost in their bestseller rank, and then found the product went right back to the rank it was before they enlisted the help of the service, the sellers then claim the services didn’t work and that they weren’t at the top. Now the thing is the services did do exactly what they said they were going to do. The fact is this sellers received disappointing results due to their misinterpretation of what exactly bestseller rank was.

Bestseller rank is determined by the number of sales you make in relation to others in your category. For example, the main category of home and kitchen, if you received a rank of 8000, you are the 8000th more sold products in that category. So in relation to others if another seller would have dropped in sales you will rise to the 7999th rank in the home and kitchen category. So I am basically trying to say that bestseller rank is a metric, its relative, it’s not static, the rank doesn’t stay the same forever, once you reach it.

The relation of how many products you’ve sold compared to others in your category is how you can define the bestseller rank. So the categories in ranking are the main category like electronics and home and kitchen and then from the kitchen is the bake ware, subcategory, so you can be the 8000th most sold in home and kitchen, but the number 1 bestselling in the bake ware subcategory. And going further down, from bake ware there is the sub-sub category of baking tools, so you can be the 2nd most sold product in bake ware and the 4th most sold products in baking tools. So it just goes on down and down, and below, so the ranking is very wide so the rank you really want to pay attention to is the main product category, because like I said you can be No1 in bake ware but 8000th in home and kitchen.

So for now let’s just do a kind of study to see how you can further understand exactly how the Amazon bestseller ranking is. So let’s say all the products in the home and kitchen section stop selling for four hours on Amazon. Amazon resets the bestselling ranking system every three or four hours or so, okay so then suddenly your baking mat, that you just put on Amazon a week ago that has ten reviews sells exactly one unit, guess what? You are the no1 bestselling product in the home and kitchen category.

Now let’s say all the products on Amazon started selling as usual your 10 review count bestselling rank will fall back to where it was before Amazon mysterious sales drop. So how do you improve your rank organically in the grand scheme of things, your rank doesn’t matter 99% of the time. The real factors that matters when it comes to getting sales on Amazon organically is ranking for the key words customers use to search for your product. And then you have to optimize your listings through certain factors, and to know these factors and to know how to rank it organically, you have to see The Launch Logic lecture, and you can find this on YouTube or within the course.

Now I cannot say Amazon sales rank doesn’t matter completely for one reason, there is one that maters and it’s not for the reason that you think. The only sales rank that matters is No1, when you are the No.1 bestselling product, you receive the bestseller tag and you receive this best seller tag on your listing title. This title tag increases your conversion metric for any product that holds it. So if you receive the bestseller tag, you receive only more sales and that is all there is to it.

Amazon FBA Course- Amazon Tools

Hi, I am Jon, and I am here to talk to you about Amazon tools or Amazon tool types. Okay and at first I want to say I don’t use all these tools, you want to see the lecture tools I use, in order to see the exact tools I actually recommend, or I should say the tools I actually use, so here is the run down.

For the tool types you have:

• The Product Finder (and SERP Evaluators)
• Then you have Keyword Tracker
• Listing Monitors
• And finally Feedback Systems

Okay the product finders, this tools generally work by scouring the Amazon site based on certain search parameters like review count, and you may want to only view products in the top 2000 of home and kitchen, with fewer than 200 hundred reviews, and this software will probe and find and present these products to you, this is great for the product finding portion of the Amazon business, naturally you won’t need this products that much especially if you your niche or size is very small, and some examples of the product finder are Amasuite and AMZshark. Okay and I just want to show you some of the sales pages, of some of the products I am talking about, just because I show you doesn’t mean I actually recommend it, and the first I am going to show you is the product finder called Amasuite and actually my uncle owns this one and it’s a bit slow if you start using it, it takes a while to get the information not only for Amazon, it’s a big market place but this particular product does take a while for you to get things filtered down, to a measurable level where you can tell exactly what you want. So anyway here is Amasuite the product analyzer is mainly what I am talking about.

When I say product analyzer, Amasuite is made up of seven different products in the top product analyzer, that’s what I am referring to when I talk about the product finder, and here like I said you can use different types of filters, to find different products within different sub categories and you can export different HTML reports in excel formats so you can not only dig for the information, but keep it as well.

Next is the SERP Evaluator which is kind of like the product finder, these tools begin their work after you’ve entered in a search request on Amazon, for instance when you go up the search bar and type in baking mat, once you’ve pressed enter, you will see the search result page and then you activate the evaluator which is usually a chrome extension and it will give you the estimated sales revenue, review count and various stats about every product on that page, including the sponsored products as well. Some examples of these are Junglescout and Unicorn Smasher and I believe these two are the only two available currently. Okay now I am going to talk about the SERP Evaluators, this is the Junglestscout website, and like I said this service basically just gives you the average sales average revenue and really evaluate the products using the SERPs.

Now this is just the page where you can find out where but first you are going to need the Google chrome to be able to use it, and I want to show you exactly what level you needed to get it there and you are going to get it used to be seventy, it’s now 97, at a time in this video but all you need is the chrome extension lite version, that’s all you need to get the monthly sales revenue, average number of review. That’s all you need to determine whether the product will be good enough for you to source for your Amazon business. And here is the page for Unicorn Smasher which is pretty much the same product and I will show you how to have these two products working in a second. And like I said once you click get unicorn smasher, you type in your name, your email, you can get this product for free. If you don’t want to pay $97 one time for Junglescout. Alright and now I am going to show you how to use both. Which is you can use them both the same way.

As you can see I have already gone on Amazon, I have already typed in my key term or product I am looking for which is baking mat, and once you do that, then you are able to use the product. You have to use it on the search result, page, which are the pages like this in this great format. So I am going to use Junglescout first, I am going to click here, it’s going to collect the information and then once it’s collected, you can actually organize it. You can get it organized by the number of estimated sales, by simply clicking the top here, or you can do it by estimated revenue, and you can see exactly the revenue level, and the review count level, and its average star rating, really an amazing product the only real product I recommend as you will see so in a second, and here is your Junglescout , and this is unicorn smasher chrome extension here.

I am going to click that, analyzers as you can see because it’s free, sometimes there is some missing content, when it comes to unicorn smasher but again you can still click here and organize the estimated monthly sales and this one, this version is free of course. This look is nice, jungle scout, to me but I feel JungleScout is a little bit more accurate as well, but it’s still a good product to use.

Alright so we are done with that, next is the Keyword Tracker, keywords tracker usually works as web applications meaning you have to log in to the site to use the service. Keyword trackers function lets you know where your product ranks or where your competitors rank, for certain keywords you decide to track within the search result pages, for instance if you were looking for a certain competitor, for baking mat it will tell you that your competitor is on page three on the search result pages for the term baking mat or where your product is ranked on page two for the term baking mat on the search results pages. This is a quick way of looking at where you stand on the search result pages in relation to your competitors, and one of the benefits of the key word tracker like I said earlier on is not only you can track your product, it’s that you can track your competitors products as well. And some examples of key word trackers are AMZ tracker and AMZshark.

Okay now I am going to tell you about AMZtracker, its created by the same people who created unicorn smasher, the unicorn smasher was really just created to get you on that email list, so they can offer you this product AMZtracker and like I said you can track keyword, with this product. it looks like they’ve also added a listing monitor services as well, so you can see if you have negative reviews and see if your products is been hijacked. So this product has really stepped its game up, listing monitors, a listing monitor alerts you to those things that are happening to your listing whether they are in real time or daily is up to you. If your listing is hijacked which means a person has decided to sell one of your used product on your listing or a person from china, is putting a white label product up and saying its yours, and put it on your listing, the listing monitor will alert you of that, if you receive a good or bad reviews or a product is pulled or suppressed on Amazon site, the listing monitors will alert you to that and that is usually through either by an email, or certain ones alert you by text message so you can get up to date, reports on your listings as it happens so you can take actions on problems quickly and easily, and some examples of listing monitors are Bindwise and Listingeagle.com.

Bindwise is another listing tracker, the advertising for the buyer box, it’s really for those people who are not private labeling which is what you should be doing not buying other products, you don’t really need that but again this is just to check to make sure your product isn’t hijacked and lets you know if your product has been suspended and also lets you monitoring your competitors and again it lets you know if you got a negative review and you can correct that.

And finally feedback system, feedback systems send automated email messages to your customers and these emails can either have a service angle like hey your product is shipped, or it can strictly be a customer feedback angle where its hey I need a review, if you liked our product please leave a review you know, those type of the emails. And these feedback systems is usually promising increase in reviews most times than not their actually influence on your review count will be minimal if it shows at all. So you know take it with a brand of salt, I know say they text and emails and things like that, you know, people are generally lazy so to really get results, those reviews you are going to have to have more than two or three steps process and some examples of these are feedbacks and feedback genius these are both in your feedback systems.

Okay and my main recommendation is you should have the SERP Evaluator meaning you should have jungle scout which is I think is $70 for the lite version, that’s really all you need, you don’t need their full service or Unicorn smasher which is free. Show you some other tool tips, for product evaluators, you can invest in them if you want, but I don’t recommend them because you only going to be sourcing at most maybe four products a year depending on your resources, so you won’t really need them and they generally cost, it is like a monthly basis type of service, and you won’t need them every month so you basically just be throwing money out you need that money for launches and promotions.

Alright keyword trackers are nice to have, when you have multiple products, or looking to expand your keyword strategy, but starting off, they are mostly unnecessary you only need to rank for one or two times on most products, most products usually only have really one to two keywords that really bring in money for the product. So you don’t really need to you know, continue to check on the minuscule products where you only get one or two sales, where the money keywords are going to give you possibly a thousand sales a month. That’s what we need to focus on. For listing Monitors those are not necessarily needed either but they can be good investment if have multiple brands or a very extensive product catalogue, and finally to feedback systems the reason I don’t recommend them is because starting out you really don’t want consider Amazon business especially if you have brand new products as a passive income. You want to stay in involved and the way I did that starting out was I will be sending out the emails for each sale I receive everyday and it doesn’t take that long at most I probably spend an hour on some of my best sales days. Amazon Sales Rank—What it Really Means…

Introduction

Amazon Sales Rank or Amazon Bestseller Rank has always been the most overrated feature of Amazon. There were even many services created for the specific purpose of boosting your bestseller rank. Inexperienced sellers thought this sudden boost of bestseller rank would lead to more organic sales down the line.

Instead, they got what they ordered, a temporary boost in bestseller rank, found the product went right back to the rank it was before they enlisted the help of the service. The sellers received these disappointing results due to their misinterpretation of exactly what bestseller ranking was.

The Definition of Amazon Bestseller Rank/Amazon Sales Rank

Amazon ranks products according to sales for each major product category like “Electronics” and “Home and Kitchen.” Amazon also ranks products in subcategories within these major categories. For instance within the “Home and Kitchen” category, “Bakeware” is also ranked.

Amazon then breaks these subcategories down further into product-type categories or types. For instance, a product category with “bakeware” is “baking tools.” You would think it would stop there, but most likely there is product category ranking as well.

This is usually the product name, for instance, within the “baking tools” product-type category there is the product category, “baking mats.” So, if you are selling any product on Amazon, you can check the rankings and determine if you are the number one bestselling and who your closest competitors are.

Let’s narrow are our topic however to just the bestseller rank for the major categories like “Electronics” and “Home and Kitchen” because these ranks are what most services were referring to. But you should also recognize that all bestseller ranks from the major categories (Electronics and Home and Kitchen) to the product category (keyboards and baking mats).

What new sellers don’t understand is that bestseller rank is not static. It is a metric based on “relativity.” The relation of how many products you have sold compared to the other products in your category.

Here’s an example of what I mean. Let’s say all the products in the “Home and Kitchen” Section stopped selling for 4 hours on Amazon.(Amazon resets its bestselling ranking system every 3-4 hours or so) Then, suddenly your brand of baking mat (that you just threw up on Amazon a week ago that has ten reviews) sells exactly 1 unit, guess what, you are now the number 1 selling product in Amazon’s Home and Kitchen category.

Now let’s say all the products on Amazon started selling, as usual, your new ten review-count baking mat’s bestseller rank will fall back to where it was before “Amazon’s mysterious sales gap.”

The Truth of Amazon Bestseller Rank

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter 99% of the time. The real factor that matters when it comes to getting sales on Amazon organically is ranking for the keywords customer’s use to search for your product and optimizing your listing through several factors.

The Only Bestseller Rank that Matters

I promised myself to have an honesty hour for every article. I cannot completely say that Amazon sales rank does not matter at all for one reason. There is one rank that matters, but not for the reason you think…

The only rank that matters is number one. It is not because you have the number 1 rank but the result of becoming number one. The bestseller tag you receive under your listing title. This tiny tag increases the conversion metric for any product that holds it, which adds a nice sales boost, sometimes to upwards of 10%.

The Importance of Factoring in Amazon’s Mobile Site — Why Amazon PPC and Other Gimmicks Won’t Save Your Product

Importance of Amazon’s Mobile Platform

Amazon’s mobile site and app are often neglected by the Amazon private label “gurus” and “podcasters.” Seventy percent of holiday purchases were made on mobile in 2015, up 10% from 2014. It is also found 68.6% of Smartphone users use Amazon’s app [Source: Expanded Ramblings]. These numbers tell you that you will want to optimize for this mobile platform, hence the reason for this article.

The nature of eCommerce is a battle for visibility. The business itself is the struggle for visibility, hence the thousands of ads you see every week.  This is even more relevant when it comes to huge marketplaces like Amazon. Products like Vitamin C Serum have over 100 pages on Amazon; I can assure you those who benefit from the popularity of this product are those on the first and second page of the search result pages (SERP) of Amazon when a customer types “Vitamin C Serum” in the search bar.

Why Traditional Ads Don’t Have Proper ROI

When it comes to Amazon, the best place to get sales is to rank for the relevant keywords for your product. So many of my students think they can get around this by using Amazon Pay Per Click, Google, and Bing ads, then ask why they cannot make a significant profit. I admit for most of these instances, they still have not fully optimized their listings, but even still… they would not see the stream of sales they would like to occur. Those who count on Google and Bing ads, do not realize most who search using those platforms are still in the research phase for his or her product. These particular searches may not lead to a sale, especially not right away. As for Amazon PPC…

Amazon’s Mobile Platform and Amazon PPC

As I stated earlier, “When it comes to Amazon, the best place to get sales is to rank for the relevant keywords for your product. The best way to illustrate this point is to simply pull up Amazon.com on your mobile device, particularly your smartphone.

Desktop search for the term “baking mat.” You will notice here you have 2 Sponsored (PPC ads) at the top in the main search column and a number in the side column as well. The organic search results (non-paid ads) start at “TTLIFE Set of 3.”

You will notice on the mobile site, the sponsored ad placements have been reduced to 1.

In this photo the only one paid ad presented happens to be Amazon’s…

It is not hard to tell the extraneous parts of Amazon’s page are gone. Even the sponsored ads number is reduced to “1.” And in the case of the baking mat, the one shown in the sponsored ad spot is Amazon’s private-label branded baking mat.

How to Overcome these “Difficulties”

If you have not utilized some semblance of a launch strategy, you are in a losing battle when it comes to your Amazon product.

You start by optimizing your listing and regarding mobile; your picture may be the most important thing. You want to start by standing out here.
